A personal blog about travel, running and races, as told from a back-of-the-pack perspective
Thanks for visiting my blog! I am 53 years old and have been running for a bit over 4 years now. My running started as a way to help me lose weight; as I ran more I found I really enjoyed running and wanted to see how far I could go. This led me to run a half marathon in 2016, the Chicago Marathon in 2017, two 50K’s in 2018, and to attempt a 100K in 2019 (which I made it 42 miles on a broken toe before having to drop – yes, I am that stubborn). This also led to my current weight loss, which is hovering right around 100 lbs, and the ability to go off of insulin for my diabetes (yay!). I am blessed with an amazing and supportive wife, three slightly crazy yet wonderful teens, two dogs and two cats.
